Add the Lions to the list of teams quickly getting deals done with draft picks.
Financial terms of the deal are not known, but Reid, the Lions’ fifth-round pick, received a four-year contract.
Reid (6-2, 301) notched 168 tackles (41 for loss) and 20.5 sacks for Princeton (2009, 2011-2013). Should he make the Lions’ roster, it could be as a backup behind starting tackles Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh. Fairley’s contract expires after the 2014 season, while Suh has two years left on his deal, which means there could be an opportunity for another defensive tackle to eventually assume a bigger role in the Detroit defense.
