Five days after the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Jets now have half of their 12 selections signed to contracts.
The latest Jets rookie to reach a deal is quarterback Tajh Boyd, whom the club announced it had signed to a four-year contract on Thursday evening.
One of the Jets’ four sixth-round picks, the 6-foot-1, 222-pound Boyd threw for 11,904 yards with 107 touchdowns and 39 interceptions in four seasons with Clemson (2010-2013). He completed 64.3 percent of his passes (901-of-1,402).
With Michael Vick and Geno Smith the Jets’ top two quarterbacks, Boyd will contend with Matt Simms for the Jets’ No. 3 role on the depth chart.
In addition to Boyd, the Jets have signed five other picks: offensive guard Dakota Dozier (Round Four), linebacker Jeremiah George (Round Five), wide receiver Quincy Enunwa (Round Six), linebacker IK Enemkpali (Round Six) and linebacker Trevor Reilly (Round Seven).
