The Jets have moved quickly to get their draft class under contract and now MetLife Stadium’s other tenants have gotten the ball rolling as well.

The Giants announced Friday that they have signed fourth-round running back Andre Williams and fifth-round safety Nat Berhe. They are the first two members of the Giants’ seven-player draft class to agree to contracts.

With David Wilson’s future still uncertain because of neck issues, Williams could see a fair amount of playing time in the Giants backfield this season. He ran for 2,177 yards at Boston College last season, earning a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist, and impressed as a durable, downhill runner. If he’s going to see time, he’ll need to prove himself as a pass blocker and it wouldn’t hurt if he showed some ability as a receiver after rarely being used that way in college.

Berhe’s path to immediate playing time on defense is a bit less clear as the Giants have Stevie Brown, Antrel Rolle and Quintin Demps on the roster even if Will Hill serves his expected suspension. The former San Diego State starter may have to settle for making his bones on special teams this year.
