The Seahawks, like numerous other clubs, aren’t waiting long to start signing draft picks.

The club said Friday it had signed three drafted rookies to contracts: Middle Tennessee State defensive tackle Jimmy Staten (fifth round), San Diego State safety Eric Pinkins (sixth round) and Arkansas fullback Kiero Small (seventh round).

News of agreements with Pinkins and Small had previously been reported. And now, Staten joins the ranks of Seahawks selections with whom Seattle has reached a deal.

The 6-foot-3, 311-pound Staten started 35 games in his final three seasons with the Blue Raiders. As a senior, Staten played 467 snaps and recorded 30 tackles. He will compete for snaps behind veteran tackles Tony McDaniel and Brandon Mebane in Seattle.
