Five down, four to go for the Patriots’ 2014 draft class.
The agents for defensive back Jemea Thomas announced that their client has agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Patriots. The sixth-round pick played corner and safety during his Georgia Tech career and coach Bill Belichick called him “an interesting guy” because of his versatility.
“I think he has some versatility — he’s smart, he runs well, he’s a tough kid, he’s a good tackler. I think that there’’s definitely a place defensively to have a player like that,” Belichick said, via WEEI.com. “Logan Ryan was different, but had some similarities to that last year where he played outside, he played in the slot, played some snaps at safety.”
With Thomas signed, first-round defensive tackle Dominique Easley, second-round quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, fourth-round center Bryan Stork and sixth-round guard Jon Halapio are the Patriots draftees without signed deals.
