Dolphins sign QB Brock Jensen, LB Chris McCain

The Dolphins have signed two more undrafted free agents.

The club said Monday it had reached deals with quarterback Brock Jensen and linebacker Chris McCain.

The 6-foot-3, 223-pound Jensen threw for 8,598 yards with 72 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in four seasons at North Dakota State, completing 62.5 percent of his passes (703-of-1,124).

The 6-foot-5, 224-pound McCain notched 90 tackles and five sacks for the Golden Bears (2011-2013). He was dismissed from the Cal club in September for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Dolphins will hold their rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday. The club signed 18 undrafted free agents last Monday.

Good luck with McCain. The guy has a high motor, but is made of glass and doesn’t like to put in the work in the gym.

Brock Jensen, the pride and joy of Waupaca, WI.

McCain was a stud here in NC High School Football, but he got into a lot of trouble at Cal. His final act was cursing out the Oregon Marching Band in front of the Cal Coaching Staff. At 225lbs he could never be a DE in the NFL, so his chances are slim to none even at OLB.

Jensen on the other hand has all the right stuff to maybe supplant Devlin, Coach Philbin’s PetProject.

Watch out for the FA QB’s. I think they might be better than the media stars.

Jensen will make that team. Good signing. Tannehill better not get injured. Think Kurt Warner. Keep your eyes on this guy, a winner.

    GO HAWKS!

Brock Jensen is going to be the biggest undrafted QB signing since Kurt Warner.

I like Tanne, but he may need to have a very good year this season.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this Jensen kid but he played at a small school and went undrafted for a reason, what is that reason? Is he dumb? Is he lazy? Both perhaps or even worse? There has to be something wrong there because from what I’ve read he has all of the tools and can make all of the throws. I hope he works for the Dolphins, I don’t believe in Devlin at all so hopefully this guy can sit behind Moore and hopefully the Dolphins get up big in some games this year so he can actually come in and play, I have’nt seen that since the days of Marino.

1uniquename: Brock Jensen is neither lazy or dumb. He led ND State to 3 straight FCS championships and a 43-2 record in those seasons. By running a balanced offense that often built large second half leads, the Bison had little need to throw the ball after mid third quarter of most games. Therefore Jensen’s total yards and TD’s doesn’t match those of other QB’s that were drafted, but his passing efficiency is right at the top. Dang near all FCS players have to overcome the stigma of coming from a “small school.” Brock has won championships at every level. I hope he continues that at the NFL level. Kudos to the Dolphins for giving him a chance.

as to former DE/OLB Chris Mccain out of CAL by way of NC…

working out has been an issue reason why is he had a torn Librium ( sp) the shoulder ligament .. this injury happened in HS and he played through it till summer of 2013 when he got it surgically repaired .. so basically not weight lifting from HS through last summer ..

as of CAL pro day he was 235 and since then he has put on more way closer to 250 now .. he got his shot now he better make it happen… good looking out to CAL HC sonny dykes for allowing chris to work out on pro day after getting kicked off team and being on his own , he showed up and put in fine effort and hopefully things pan out for him

side note chris getting kicked out of NW game for targeting that was later over turned was too much for him and the team had he played the whole first game we may have won

    go bears go dolphins
