Seahawks reach deal with fourth-round pick Cassius Marsh

The Seahawks have signed fourth-round pick Cassius Marsh, a defensive end from UCLA, the club said Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 254-pound Marsh recorded 60 tackles (10.5 for loss) and six sacks in 2013 for the Bruins. He’ll have an opportunity to earn reps behind starters Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett for Seattle, which had top-notch defensive line depth a season ago.

The Seahawks have reached deals with 4-of-9 draft picks, with defensive tackle Jimmy Staten (Round Five), safety Eric Pinkins (Round Six) and fullback Kiero Small (Round Seven) also in the fold.

In addition to getting Marsh under contract, the Seahawks announced the signings of two undrafted free agents Monday: Southern tight end Rashaun Allen and North Carolina A&T offensive guard Nate Isles. Both took part in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp last weekend.

In other roster moves Monday, the Seahawks released veteran tight end Travis Beckum and undrafted cornerback Jimmy Legree. Beckum played for the Giants from 2009 through 2012.

I wish the Vikings could make the playoffs. Marsh would destroy Bridgewater or cassel or ponder

No chance on ponder, only thing worse than him at qb would be the 12th man…

Sucks not being able to play the Vikings this year. That was like an extra bye week last season.

You could give the Vikings all the picks in the 1st round and they’d still find a way to screw it up.

    Don’t diss the Vikings.

Between them and the Bills, it’s hard to say who has had the most/least success.

Marsh looks like an absolute stud! I wanted the skins to grab him in the 5th.

He’s got the perfect style and versatility to fit in with the Hawks defensive scheme and Carroll will be sure to find the best fit for him.

He’s 254 right now but he’ll be at least 20 lbs heavier by the start of the season. A good team guy and an excellent addition to the #1 D in the league.

    Go Hawks!!!
