The 49ers continue to plug away at signing their 12-player draft class.

Oklahoma fullback Trey Millard is the latest draft pick to sign. The 49ers announced Tuesday they had struck a four-year deal with Millard, one of their two seventh-round selections.

The 6-foot-2, 247-pound Millard rushed for 538 yards and six TDs on 98 carries and caught 70 passes for 677 yards and seven TDs for the Sooners from 2010 through 2013. He suffered a left ACL tear on October 26.

“He’s run the football effectively, he pass catches effectively and he blocks effectively,” 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke said after the team selected Millard, according to a team-issued transcript. “To be a fullback in our system you got to do those three things, and he does those three things.”

The 49ers now have 7-of-12 draft selections under contract.

  1. 9ers drafted the consensus best prospect at several different positions this year, which is fairly remarkable for a team picking at the back end of the draft. Millard was considered by many the best FB in the draft. Carlos Hyde the best RB. Jimmie Ward the best SS/NB. Marcus Martin at C. Chris Borland was second ILB prospect behind C.J. Moseley, and it’s a two player position for teams using 3-4 defense. Brandon Thomas played OT his last two seasons, but he will move to OG, and would be among the top prospects at that position.

  2. Didn’t know anything about is guy, but his YouTube highlights are ridiculous! How many fb’s hurdle corners, have 70 yard receptions and 60 yard rushes? I love bruce miller, but this guy has delanie walker elements. 7th rounder for the best fb in the draft who really is a fast Swiss Army knife?!? Icing on the cake is that he’ll go on the pup and his 4 yr contract wont start until next year. This might be our best draft pick, considering the value.

  3. Queue the niner fan base saying that Millard is the best thing since sliced bread and that the Niners are suddenly over the hump and destined to win the Superbowl….

  4. As a Sooner fan, I think this is another good pick for the Niners. He’s smart, versatile, and will be a good special teams player.

  5. Nice, really like our draft..good luck to ALL teams next year and cant wait for football

No, we are not Seahack bandwagoners. We know that each season is not predetermined, and whether our team is 14-2 or 2-14 we remain Faithful. The last three seasons we have made it to at least the NFCCG proving we are a perennial contender on the brink of our teams 6th Lombardi. Millard ia going to be part of that legacy. Which is why we say and will continue to say ….

WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?!!! NOOOOOBBBBOOOODDDYYY!!!
