The 49ers continue to plug away at signing their 12-player draft class.
Oklahoma fullback Trey Millard is the latest draft pick to sign. The 49ers announced Tuesday they had struck a four-year deal with Millard, one of their two seventh-round selections.
The 6-foot-2, 247-pound Millard rushed for 538 yards and six TDs on 98 carries and caught 70 passes for 677 yards and seven TDs for the Sooners from 2010 through 2013. He suffered a left ACL tear on October 26.
“He’s run the football effectively, he pass catches effectively and he blocks effectively,” 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke said after the team selected Millard, according to a team-issued transcript. “To be a fullback in our system you got to do those three things, and he does those three things.”
The 49ers now have 7-of-12 draft selections under contract.
