Browns hire former Redskins personnel man Morocco Brown

Browns General Manager Ray Farmer is beefing up his personnel staff, and hiring a guy whose team-issed gear is now personalized.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns have hired former Redskins director of pro personnel Morocco Brown to be Farmer’s second-in-command.

Brown spent six years with the Redskins, and has had a number of interviews for other jobs in recent years.

This is the time of year for other scouting moves, but adding Brown gives the Browns another set of eyes on the personnel side.

I would think if Washington Redskins were on your resume, you probably wouldn’t get many interviews.

Waiting for the inevitable announcement that Mike Dumbturdi is no longer with NE.

Given top-down management, I think he’ll be providing more ayes than eyes.

Interesting. The Skins have found a RB, TE, and LT over the last 5 years, and not much else. Wonder if he is related to the old school cartoon character Morocco Mole…

It was a matter of time. He’ll do well in his new role, wish we could have kept him.

Morocco has two brothers: Milan and Marseille. Big travelers, their parents were…..I guess.

The Browns scored big. Morocco Brown was the Skins’ “down roster” guy and has a knack for identifying the developmental guys who can succeed in the NFL along the lines guys like Ted Thompson or Ozzie Newsome.

You always heard about how respected Brown was in the Redskins organization…and what a bright future he had.

On the other hand, it’s not like the Redskins have been personnel wizards over the years. So it’s hard to tell how good he is.

Always seemed like a classy dude, so I wish him the best of luck…

Having worked with and around the Shanahan family, he probably has insight into what type of skills the players should have to make the Shanahan system work.

    In Ray we trust!
