The Falcons are taking the same approach to signing their drafted linemen as they did in free agency — they’re working quickly.
The team announced that first-round tackle Jake Matthews and second-round defensive end Ra’Shede Hageman had agreed to their rookie contracts.
Drafting those two follows an offseason built around getting tougher on both lines, which the Falcons did in the first hours of free agency by signing Paul Soiai, Tyson Jackson and Jon Asamoah.
Getting Matthews in particular helps, because it shores up their left tackle spot at a reasonable rate for the next five years (assuming they pick up the option).
