Cornerback Aaron Colvin is the third member of the Jaguars’ draft class to sign a contract with the team.
Unlike the others, signed or unsigned, Colvin may not wind up helping the Jaguars at all this season.
Colvin tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl, which likely knocked him down a bit in the draft but didn’t stop the Jaguars from drafting him and using his rookie season as a redshirt year if necessary. Colvin made two All-Big 12 teams while at Oklahoma and played both safety and corner at different times for the Sooners. He’s almost certainly going to start the season on the physically unable to perform list and may wind up missing the whole season as he recovers.
If he makes a full recovery, Colvin can be a versatile piece for coach Gus Bradley to use as he tries to build the Jaguars into a consistent winner over the next few years.
