Justin Britt signs with Seahawks

The Seahawks now have both of their second-round picks under contract.

Offensive tackle Justin Britt announced Thursday he had signed his rookie deal with Seattle, posting a picture on Twitter of him signing the document. He was the final selection of Round Two (No. 64 overall).

The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Britt started 36 games at Missouri, earning second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a senior in 2013. He made 30 starts at left tackle for the Tigers.

After Britt was selected, Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable indicated the rookie lineman would vie for a role at right tackle.

“He’s an ornery, nasty guy that plays the game the right way,” Cable said of Britt, according to Seahawks.com.

The Seahawks reached a contract agreement with wide receiver Paul Richardson, their other second-round pick, on Tuesday. The club now has struck deals with 6-of-9 draft picks.

This is a Tom Cable pick and still don’t like. Maybe its because his James Carpenter/John Moffit picks left me sour. If he beats out Michael Bowie I will be impressed. I know Britt was coming off ACL injury but he didn’t look athletic and was constantly getting pushed back into his QB college last year. Now its into the NFC West where D-lines are stacked with Pro Bowlers and All Pros.

Ummmm you do realize he’s about as related to Kenny Britt as Nate Washington is related to George.

I wonder if he has enough clean urine and blood for the team’s drug testing.

Yikes that seahawks offensive line is going to be porous.
