Eric Winston isn’t on an NFL roster right now, but he’s still playing a pretty big role in the league.

Winston was elected president of the NFL Players Association and he’ll visit with Mike Florio on Thursday’s PFT Live to discuss some of the issues that he and the rest of the union’s leadership are dealing with right now.

Some of those issues include talk of expanded playoffs and Jerry Jones’ proclamation that the union doesn’t need to sign off on it, the status of HGH testing in the league and Winston’s own proclamation that there won’t be an 18-game season on his watch. There will be much more during our daily look at all the news from around the league.

It all gets started at noon ET and you can watch it all live by clicking right here.

For my money you can’t have enough pictures of Bearded Eric Winston in articles. Every single one is gold.

Looks like an old picture considering he has a uniform on, he needs to find a team!

He can’t protect the quarterback’s backside what makes players think he can protect their backside any better.

I guess you can’t have enough whiners in positions of power. Oprah Winston for president!

As a RT, he’d most likely be protecting their front side… He’s an outstanding run blocker and a mediocre pass blacker.

I do feel it’s weird though that the president of the “players” association isn’t technically a “player” right now.
