Sean Lee getting left knee checked out

Perhaps Sean Lee can have a non-contact visit with the doctor this afternoon.

After his star linebacker was helped off the field Tuesday afternoon, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Lee’s injury was to his left knee, and they’d know more later today, according to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

That likely means he’s headed for an MRI, after being blocked to the ground by rookie guard Zack Martin in what is supposed to be something less than practice.

Even though it’s May, losing Lee for any amount of time will be a huge blow for the Cowboys.

    Can’t possibly be any worse than their 32nd ranked defence last season so theres that

    Media attendees are stating he was “blocked to the ground” but rather slipped after overrunning the play.

    Don’t get me wrong, I like Lee but I can’t say I didn’t see this one coming. Jerrah continues to compound mistakes by giving big $$$ to suspect players (Ratliff, Free, Lee, etc…), forcing him to make tough decisions on the back end (Ware, Romo, Dez(?)). A “real” GM would have been ran out of town years ago.

    This dude gives 100% every single time he puts the pads on. Helluva player. Only injuries will shorten his career. Beast…..

    People need to read before posting. Lee’s contract is incentive based so no big money unless he plays 80% of the snaps .. it’s a good deal…

    Thanks kingbishop for pointing out the contract. Everyone wants to hate on JJ for being an idiot, but this contract was a good deal for the player and the Cowboys. Hopefully the knee is OK and he can be ready for camp in a couple of months.

    Lee is in regular season form already.

    If Sean Lee is out for whatever reason, the Cowboys will have no shot at their coveted 8-8 season….

    Injuries are common in the sport but the Cowboys seem attracted to players made of glass. Just recently;

    Claiborne, Lee, Austin (Mr. Hamstring to you), Murray quickly come to mind. There was Terrance Newman and his permanent groin strain for 3 years.

    That guy is snake bit — must be made of tissue paper.

    JJ, quick call Hocking-Corning and see if they have any more LB’s available.

    There is video of it on the Cowboy’s website.

    Needless to say, nothing Sean Lee could really do. Zack Martin is an idiot. The guy took him down on a screen pass. Huge hardo rookie move.
