The Bears have added an offensive lineman who played for head coach Marc Trestman in Montreal.

According to the NFL’s Wednesday transactions, Chicago has been awarded Michael Ola on waivers from Miami.

Ola played for the CFL’s Alouettes for two seasons (2012-2013). He started five games for Montreal in 2012, Trestman’s final season with the franchise.

According to Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com, the Bears worked out the 26-year-old Ola in December. Ola would sign with the Dolphins in February before being let go on Tuesday.

In a corresponding roster move Wednesday, the Bears released defensive back Derrick Martin with a non-football injury designation. An eighth-year pro from Wyoming, the 29-year-old Martin appeared in seven games for Chicago in 2013, notching three tackles. Martin previously saw regular season action with the Ravens (2006-2008), Packers (2009-2010), Giants (2011) and Patriots (2012).
