The Jets re-signed right guard Willie Colon to a one-year deal with the knowledge that he was recovering from a torn biceps.
That’s not the only rehab that Colon will be doing between now and the start of the season, though. Coach Rex Ryan said at a Wednesday press conference that Colon needs to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee after injuring it while working out. There’s no specific timetable
“It’s safe to say it’s going to be awhile,” Ryan said, via Kimberley Martin of Newsday.
The Jets drafted Dakota Dozier in the fourth round of the draft and he’ll be one of the players likely to see more reps while Colon is out of the picture. William Campbell and Oday Aboushi will likely also be in the mix, but the Jets will be in much better shape if their need for a fill-in doesn’t extend beyond the spring.
