Allen Robinson out a few weeks with hamstring injury

The Jaguars took a pair of wide receivers in the second round last month, but one of them will miss the next few weeks.

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union reports that Allen Robinson injured his hamstring and will be sidelined as he gets back to full health. Given the date and the way hamstring injuries can linger if not given ample time to heal, that may mean that Robinson will next be on the field when the Jaguars gather for training camp this summer.

Robinson will miss some time with the team’s coaches while he recovers, but the on-field teaching won’t do him much good if he isn’t healthy enough to put what he’s learned into practice. He’s been working at the split end spot this spring, where the Jags have Cecil Shorts so Robinson may not to worry about loads of immediate playing time anyway.

Marqise Lee, the team’s other second-round wide receiver, is pencilled in as the starter in place of Justin Blackmon. He missed practice on Monday as well, but said over the weekend that he feels 100 percent after an injury-riddled 2013 season at USC.

if they can keep this receiving corp together for a few years the jags could be dangerous. and that isn’t a joke.

Well, at least Bortles is healthy from the draft. The backup quarterback position is covered.

I opined for the Saints to trade down and draft Robinson. I guess I “settled” for a trade up for Cooks. Oh well, woe is me… ; )

All joking aside, I think this guy will be a bad@ss in a few seasons.
