Drayton Florence gets a look from the Titans

The post-June 1 mini-free agency surge has begun.  Sort of.

Free-agent cornerback Drayton Florence worked out for the Titans on Tuesday, per a league source.  Florence appeared in 14 regular-season games with five starts for Carolina in 2013, his first season with the team.

Since entering the league in 2003, Florence also has played for the Chargers, Jaguars, Bills, and Lions.

Because June 1 has come and gone, the signing of Florence won’t count toward the formula for determining compensatory draft picks.

The Titans lost cornerback Alterraun Verner to the Bucs in free agency, but they did not replace him with a comparable veteran.  At this point of the offseason, Florence could be the best they can do.

Don’t need him…..It was best for ATV to move on. As his strengths didn’t fit our DC Hortons scheme. But we have decent talent who can and will replace him.

I’m flabbergasted it took this long. D-Flo should come back to CAR, he was better than I thought he would be.
