Drayton Florence gets a look from the Titans

Florence

The post-June 1 mini-free agency surge has begun. Sort of.

Free-agent cornerback Drayton Florence worked out for the Titans on Tuesday, per a league source. Florence appeared in 14 regular-season games with five starts for Carolina in 2013, his first season with the team.

Since entering the league in 2003, Florence also has played for the Chargers, Jaguars, Bills, and Lions.

Because June 1 has come and gone, the signing of Florence won’t count toward the formula for determining compensatory draft picks.

The Titans lost cornerback Alterraun Verner to the Bucs in free agency, but they did not replace him with a comparable veteran. At this point of the offseason, Florence could be the best they can do.
