David Wilson not cleared to return yet

Giants running back David Wilson was hoping today was the day he was cleared.

But yet again, he’s going to have to wait.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, Wilson saw a specialist today to check on his recovery from neck surgery, and will be checked again before the start of training camp.

The hope is that Wilson will be cleared to return then, but he’s apparently not ready for any substantial amount of contact (Such that there’s contact in OTAs, right Sean Lee?).

The Giants would obviously like to get him back on the field, but they’ve signed and drafted backs to make it more of a luxury than a necessity this offseason.

As part of the combine players should all get full body MRIs, or at least on their necks and knees

If only the great Tiki Barber would come to the Giants. His incredible talent on the field and his leadership on and off made him the best RB since Barry Sanders and the greatest Giant in team history after LT.

With David Wilson’s retirement, the Giants are in big trouble at RB. Without Hakeem Nicks and Brandon Myers the Giants have lost their most important offensive weapons. My Giants are facing a tough season in year one of the Ryan Nassib era.

Giants fans bristle at the thought of David Wilson carrying anything other than a bag of dirty towels on the sideline.

Brandon Myers an important offensive weapon? Really??? He played more like Oscar Myers

Why you don’t draft a RB in the first round…

I still have hope for Wilson. Know which NYG RB also had his first two years besieged by injuries? That’s right. That same player went on to be their greatest RB of all time. Still early for young David. In this offense, he could be a monster.

At this point Wilson is a luxury.Did anyone see Rashad Jennings run against the Giants last year? And that was with a lousy offense.Andre Williams is going to open alot of eyes also.If Wilson does come back he is going to be used catching passes out the backfield where his speed will be a weapon.

Jennings is going to have a nice season if healthy.
