The Lions are inching closer to having their entire draft class under contract.
The club said on its website Wednesday that it had signed second-round pick Kyle Van Noy to a four-year deal. Noy, for his part, tweeted a picture of him ostensibly signing his contract with the caption: “It’s official!!!!”
The Lions now have 7-of-8 picks signed, with first-round selection Eric Ebron the last to have yet to finalize a deal.
An outside linebacker from BYU, Van Noy could push to start as a rookie. In four collegiate seasons (2010-2013), Van Noy recorded 226 tackles, including 62 for loss. Overall, he notched 26 sacks, with 13 sacks as a junior in 2012. He also showed skill in pass coverage, breaking up 17 passes and recording seven interceptions.
