Tune in now for the Stanley Cup Final

Stanley AP

Usually, I quit paying attention to the NHL after the Penquins are eliminated.  But since that’s been happening a little too early in recent years, I’ve decided this year to keep watching.

You should, too.  Tonight, a New York-Los Angeles series gets rolling.  It’s Rangers-Kings, and it’s getting started now on NBC and NBC’s Live Extra.

Game One.  Best of seven.  The Kings have won three Game Sevens to get here.  In the conference semifinals, the Rangers knocked out the Penguins in seven after trailing 3-1.

I’m not really rooting for anyone.  But I’m definitely rooting for a Game Seven.

If you’re not in the mood for postseason hockey, watch the clip below and get in the mood.

When do all these hockey games actually mean something? Haven’t they been playing since last summer?

  6. jghs38 says: Jun 4, 2014 9:04 PM

Really? Of all the NHL teams you could cheer on, you cheer for the whiny hypocritical Penguins? Come on Florio, you’re better than that.

    S***w the Penquins.

    Hockey is a terrible sport.

Hockey is the best sport. There is no better trophy then Lord Stanley’s Cup. I was heartbroken after the Hawks lost, but it’s the cup. How can you not watch.

Only game left where a hit can occur without a flag or a lawsuit.

Mean something? In about half the games it takes MLB

Wow…Pro Hockey Talk must be hurtin’ bad if they gotta recruit PFT for a little advertising.

Somehow I doubt PHT was telling their readers to tune in the Super Bowl on the morning of Feb 2nd. All five of their readers were already eating nachos and cracking a cold one in front of the TV.

I’ve come to enjoy hockey in the last few years. Still don’t have a team- don’t really think I can justify following three sports, but Hockey is far better than it gets credit for. I’ve learned that much.

I come to Pro Football Talk for FOOTBALL TALK. Leave the hockey out of it.

I almost forgot. Playoff hockey is one of the best things to watch. Makes me want to play it.

Nothing more riveting than overtime playoff hockey. Except for game 7 overtime playoff hockey.
    Pens need an overhaul, Mike.
Whatever they were doing right has gone stale.

You got the Wild now. Get over it. I guess one never gets over losing Mikey Mo in his prime though

The NHL is actually way more exciting than watching goofy LeBron wonder around a basketball court. Basketball has been ruined as of late….

Hockey is way underrated, I don’t know many NFL fans that disagree.

Wow. Commenters have never seen PO hockey. Don’t know what you’re missing.

  24. seahawksteven777 says: Jun 4, 2014 11:52 PM

I hate hockey and yes, I know exactly what I’m missing and it’s not much. It’s just glorified ice skating.

  25. mrneto72 says: Jun 5, 2014 12:35 AM

    Kings in six

  26. jrmalo23 says: Jun 5, 2014 12:36 AM

Better than basketball. Its something to see a hockey player take a puck to the face and come back 5-10 minutes later after a few stitches and a few teeth missing. In basketball, you think every bmp and bruise is a career ender only to see them bounce right back up when they feel the attention on them.

  27. stevequinn says: Jun 5, 2014 5:16 AM

It’s going to be a great finals. Would like to see the Rangers win but I’m afraid it ain’t gonna happen. The Kings are just the better team.

Trying being an islanders fan Florio. The season ends for us by week 2.

  29. bromara says: Jun 5, 2014 8:38 AM

You think football players are warriors? Watch some hockey. No playoffs compare to it.

Any sports that requires 10 months to determine its champion is nothing more than a money-grab. Hockey is not only a money-grab but also a BORING money-grab.
