Brandon Flowers among eight new additions to PFT’s All-Unemployed Team

After a busy couple of days in veteran free agency, it was time to add some fresh faces to PFT’s All-Unemployed Team.

Eight new players have been added to our roster of the NFL’s top unsigned players, most notably ex-Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers. It would not be a surprise if Flowers were just a short-term member of the squad; the 28-year-old corner probably has some good football left to be played, and he should be able to land another key role elsewhere.

In addition to Flowers, we’ve made changes at safety and defensive tackle after Mike Adams joined the Colts and Kevin Williams signed on with Seattle. We’ve also bolstered the depth at a few other positions. For example, we’ve added a third tight end, putting Dustin Keller on the squad. Now almost 10 months removed from suffering multiple knee injuries last August, Keller surely has a place in the NFL if he’s at or near full strength.

Joining Flowers and Keller as new All-Unemployed members are guard Mike Brisiel, wide receiver Austin Collie, outside linebacker Quentin Groves, safety Will Hill, defensive lineman Vaughn Martin and center Samson Satele.

As always, the All-Unemployed Team is subject to change. The question is, do we see a few more unsigned players land jobs as NFL teams wrap up their offseason workouts next week? It’s something to ponder after all of the activity of recent days.

This team would crush the Raiders.

Collie was a good emergency guy for the Pats last year. Seemed like he caught one important pass in every game he was in. Kind of surprised he’s out there.

With the injury history of EdelmanAmendolaThompkinsDobsonBoyce I hope he’s available this year too.

T.O.? Hasn’t played in a while but is likely in better shape and works harder than half of these guys.

Hint! Hint! To Dave Gettleman, Carolina Panthers. you should be looking for a starting left tackle and not a human turnstile to protect your QB….just saying.

Come on Gettleman !! Panthers could use Flowers

I don’t think Flowers will be there very long. Vikings and Jets could use him.

While I’m not a Vikings fan, I really respect Zimmerman for his experience & knowledge so, I’m watching to see who he goes after for help in their secondary.

Why is Flowers even unemployed? Do the Chiefs given up on him? There must be reason behind it….buyer beware.

It’s why the NFL stands for not for long. Some decent players out there and can’t get nibble.

  18. jjackwagon says: Jun 15, 2014 8:57 PM

^^^^They can’t get a nibble because they have priced themselves out of the market. Flowers will be back with the Chiefs for less money when he figures out that no one will pay him 5.25 mil this year.

  19. realphinsfan says: Jun 16, 2014 12:15 PM

^^ You honestly don’t think someone would pay a pro bowl caliber corner 5.25 mil this year?

  20. babygaga19 says: Jun 17, 2014 8:33 PM

Flowers got a bad rip. H e was a good football player. KC is out of control with cap issues.

  21. numba1wiscosportsfan says: Jun 18, 2014 1:24 PM

Packers should pick him up! Don’t want the Vikin’s to get him.
