APFormer Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison’s again in the news regarding a shooting in Philadelphia.
According to David Gambacorta of the Philadelphia Daily News, the retired receiver was shot at early this morning while coming to the aid of a man in his underwear.
The report says that around 3:20 a.m., Harrison was driving when he was flagged down by a man wearing boxers who was fleeing an apartment, which two men had just broken into. The guy in his shorts asked Harrison to call 911, and Harrison let the man climb into the bed of his pickup.
That’s when the burglars ran outside, and shot twice at Harrison’s truck.
No one was injured, but one of the bullets hit Harrison’s tire, which went flat shortly thereafter. The victim said the burglars stole $500 from him, and apparently scared him enough to eschew pants.
Harrison has been accused of involvement in two Philadelphia shootings, but wasn’t charged either time. One of the men was later shot and killed near a bar Harrison owns.
Marv needs to move.
He should stick to shootin some Bball outside of the school
someone was trying to reenact a scene from breaking bad it something
Marv needs to move to the Big House.
Read all about the things he’s “allegedly” done.
Marvin was the getaway car for the two burglars.
You can take the man out of west philly, but you can’t take the west philly out of the man. No clue why he insists on coming back. I don’t even make 100k/y, and I don’t go back there, lol
Call Will Smith and see what he did to get out of West Philly, and follow his lead (well, that will be impossible since you didn’t grow up rich like him, but I’m sure there is someone you can call)
Jezz yet another NFL player past or present involved in gun crime.
Ah, 3:20 am. It’s the best time to be out and about……..
Trouble just seems to find some people
Props to Marv for stopping for a guy flagging down traffic in his underwear at 3:20 AM. Although I notice he did make the guy get in the back of the pickup.
Young woman, panties and bra, I stop, if she’s not a wreck. A guy in boxer shorts, unless waving a couple Wells Fargo bags, is jumping for the ditch as I floor it.
Killadelphia, the city of brotherly love!
“Get in the back of the pickup in case they start shooting, but make sure they know that’s where you are….”.
Them Burglars be dead.
I like how the ad on the right hand screen is for underwear
You can bet one way or another Marvin will get painted as the bad guy for this.
Anyone with half a brain would be nowhere near West Philly, much less at 3 am ..
No good deed goes unpunished.
Dick Cheney would have nailed Mr. Underwear with one shot. Look out !
This guy is like a cat! 9 lives! How about a beach house in S.Fla. Marv? Wake up!
This is all coincidental………right.
Who knew on the field Marvin Harrison was all business and quiet, off of it he’s buck-wild (allegedly)
3 in the morning in West Philly? What bad could happen? Must have had a White Castle craving.
I still think Marv is hiding in plain sight like Gus Fring.
Frank Reynolds was just fooling around…
I think ole Marv is on the down low… All of a sudden at 3 in the morning u run across a man in his underwear… So the “report” says, yeah ok… The real story was probably more like they were trying to rob Marv and his acquaintance… Read past the bull
Handgun Harrison
Marvin Harrison Hernandez…
Was Colin Kaepernick involved in this somehow?
I’m not buying this story. I don’t doubt the elements are true (Harrison, dude in underwear, gunshot hole in truck tire, 3:30 am, etc.) I just don’t think they all came together in the way it is reported.
I think he sorta sounds like a hero.
That’s his story and he’s sticking to it.
Awesome; you can’t just make this stuff up!
Harrison is a smarter version of AHernandez.
Great player though.
To the person who said trouble just seems to find some people…
It’s a LOT easier for trouble to find YOU at 3:20 a.m. in a seedy part of a dangerous city…
I find it interesting that no one commented the pickup truck. I mean, how surreal is that? A former NFL wide receiver, who should have many millions in cash tucked away, driving in West Philly…in a pickup truck! Not to get all racial or anything, but a black guy in the inner city(?) driving a pickup truck, at 3 in the morning, seems a little….unusual?Odd? Unlikely?
Why did I expect Kapernick to be involved?
He just happens to be riding by at 3:20 am? Where there’s smoke there’s fire. This guy is going to be in jail or dead within the next year.
Borrowing a line from W. C. Fields, Marv’s epitaph will read, “He wishes he hadn’t been so stubborn about living in Philadelphia.”.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Wait, so Harrison was the victim this time? Is today opposite day?
From what I just read… Harrison did the noble thing, I respect that and don’t understand the ridicule. U want to knock on him for previous issues, OK, but here he saved that guy… what have u done?
3:20 AM, in Philly and gun shots… no news here- this is normal.
I guess the fact the man owns a bar escapes you morons … And only criminals live in the “bad part of town”.
Well raiderskin, what we have done is avoid South Philly at 3:20 am, that’s what he shoulda done too. It may not be noble but it’s surely common sense.
You know the old saying;
Nothing good happens after 3:15 am
Nothing good happens being out at 3:20 am!
where there is smoke, there’s fire. The majority of people are never around shootings. How many is this for Marvin?
There is no other city quite like it in the world!!!! This story only reinforces the motto of ‘City of Brotherly Love’. Put the same scenario in a any other city and anyone in Marwin’s position would either try their hardest to ignore the man and call the cops or simply or run ‘like cats n dogs’.
Marvin Harrison make me proud to be a native Philadelphian! Thanks Marvin!!!
Harrison was only able to give a brief description of the events.
He killed a guy
Philly is probably not even top 5 in the US in murder rates.
Marv, I once lived in Philly and moved out for that reason. Time to hit the bricks as we say in Philly.
A quick look into him and it’s obvious he’s not a good guy….
What the heck is he doing around at 3:20 am anyway?
Nothing good happens at any hour in West Philadelphia.
After dark it just gets worse.
C’mon really?? I can’t wait to see what really happened.
Josh Gordon’s role model. Believe that !
I hate being broke.
As others have said, Marv was a great player, but off the field, where there’s so much smoke there’s gotta be fire.
Also, some local knowledge from back in the day – Marv lives in North Philly, which is much rougher than West Philly (let alone South Philly). In most parts of North Philly, this story would never even be reported. Where this incident reportedly occurred is very near City Line – actually a nicer part of West Philly, near the suburbs.
Of course, what a guy who lives and owns businesses and property in North Philly was doing in a pickup at 3:20 AM in West Philly is … curious at best. Maybe Marv wants to move to a better neighborhood? 😉
