Cowboys sign second-rounder Demarcus Lawrence

The magic number keeps shrinking.

In the time since we posted that just 10 unsigned draft picks remain and walked the dog, that number is already down to nine.

Agent David Canter just tweeted out word that Cowboys second-rounder Demarcus Lawrence signed his contract with the Cowboys this morning.

The 34th overall pick, the Boise State pass-rusher is going to have a chance to make an immediate impact for a defense that had a lot of leaks a year ago.

I’m very worried for my Giants. After Will Beatty’s retirement due to injury, Luke Petitgout was supposed to come out of retirement to return as LT. After his arrest that hope is over.

I don’t see how my Giants can stop the Cowboys reloaded defense with the new Demarcus leading the way.

And next up in the news will be Lawrence going down with a season ending injury during training camp. Just watch. You heard it here first!!!

Ugh that Dallas defense is going to be historically pathetic.

Justintuckrule, you’re either the worst, faithless, cowardly Giants fan ever, or maybe just the most obsessive, most jealous, weirdest, Cowboys fan ever.

Good to see. Lawrence showed some good quickness in OTAs, be interesting to see how he fares against Tyronosaurus when the pads come on.

The one shining hope is that Dallas’ defense will be better this season than last because, well, being worse will take a lot of work.

What is giving me some optimism that the D can be at least average is that Marinelli has shown that he will adapt his defense to the skills of the players in it. He has already said we will be using more man coverage because both Carr, Claiborne, and Scandrick are better at man than zone.

I think justintuckrule’s tongue was firmly planted in his cheek when he wrote that. 😉

The entire seconary is God awful and Pop Warner at best and I can’t wait to see Pierre Garcon & D Jax roast them alive!!!

Word on the street is Lawrence is really benefiting from going against Smith in OTAs, should continue in camp.

Are you guys gonna hype him up like you did Morris Claiborne the bust!

At least our defense don’t fake injuries to stop the clock. The typical Giant fan loves that move.
