T.J. Yates isn’t the only former member of the Houston Texans joining the Atlanta Falcons.

According to his agent, David Canter, linebacker Tim Dobbins has agreed to terms on a deal with the Falcons.

Yates was dealt to the Falcons late Wednesday night in exchange for linebacker Akeem Dent. With a season-ending injury to Sean Witherspoon, the trade of Dent further lessened the depth of the Falcons linebacking corps. Dobbins and Jonathan Vilma were both brought in on visits with the Falcons over the last week before reaching a deal with Dobbins Wednesday night.

Dobbins spent the last three years with the Houston Texans before being released by the team in October. Dobbins appeared in just three games last year for Houston and did not record a tackle. Dobbins has appeared in 107 games over eight seasons with 253 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions.

Dobbins brings experience to a group that is mostly green at the professional level. No other linebacker currentl on the Falcons active roster has more than two years experience in the league.
