The San Diego Chargers are now off until the start of training camp in July.

According to the Associated Press, Chargers head coach Mike McCoy has cancelled the final day of mini-camp and given his players and staff an early jump on the month-long break until the start of camp on July 24.

McCoy said he had been contemplating the decision before finally making the call to cancel the final practice session midway through the team’s practice on Wednesday. He said he’s not concerned about losing a day of practice time in relation to the rest of the league by cutting their mini-camp a day short.

“I thought about it and I think the way they practiced and worked from the very first day of the offseason program, and the last couple of days, I was happy where we are at right now,” McCoy said.

The Chargers will report for training camp on July 23 before opening practices on the 24th.
