Giants sign pair of ex-Vikings

DeMarcus Love AP

The Giants added a pair of former Vikings draft picks on Thursday, signing offensive tackle DeMarcus Love and defensive tackle Everett Dawkins, per the NFL’s transaction report.

The 26-year-old Love was most recently with the Jaguars, who released him earlier in June. He was a sixth-round selection in 2011.

Dawkins, 24, was waived by the Buccaneers last week. The Vikings took him in Round Seven of the 2013 draft. He appeared in one regular season game for Dallas, which signed him off of Minnesota’s practice squad.

With Love and Dawkins signing on, rookie defensive tackle Eathyn Manumaleuna (BYU) and first-year offensive tackle Steven Baker (East Carolina) were waived in corresponding roster moves by New York.

Seahawks must not have wanted them

Since the 2014 season is already over for the Giants and they’ve thrown in the towel, they might as well get ready for 2015.

Seems like the giants have taken notes out of seattles page and use the vikings as a farm team

Huh, I didn’t even know those guys played for my team.

    Thanks for Linval Joseph.

The BEST defensive tackle in the NFL

Throw in the towel for 2015, dude you need to stop acting like a Giants fan cause you aren’t.

I really do hope these guys succeed in New York.

It would just be more proof that playing for the Minnesota Vikings drains away every ounce of desire, hope, and motivation from anyone unfortunate enough to be forced to put on that purple.

Sure worked out well for the Giants last time they signed a former Viking… Josh Freeman

Good luck to the Giants, if they can win with cast offs from the last place team in the NFC North, the entire coaching staff should jointly receive “Coach of the Year” honors or St Anthony designation in the church.

That’s pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Now that they’re done embracing the suck, these two have a fighting chance.

How bad are things when you have to sign players cut by the VIKINGS! Long year for the Giants.

    Taking from Seattle’s farm team I guess….

Too bad the Packers didn’t sign Dawkins. He would have been a massive upgrade over BJ Puji

More proof that the 2014 season will be a bust. These 2 played for the Vikings, Jaguars, Bucs and the Cowboys; the worst defenses in the NFL, and now we have them. Give me a break here. SMH

Those guys play qb or something? Probably could throw as many INT’s as Eli Pannic did last year.

You all are acting like the Giants announced these guys as starters. All they are is competition For starting or back positions. If they end up making it then its cheap labor. If not then its no loss.

Comments about the Giants 3rd string backup competiton… Comments about scraping the bottom of the barrel…

Same comments from the same people who said this in 2011 and 2007.

Those comments turned into “The Giants were the luckiest team in the NFL… The Giants won with a stellar defense… If Wes Welker catches that ball….”

Giants fans laugh at you, considering NONE of your teams have won anything recently, OR at all for that matter.
