Jaguars part ways with Jason Babin again

The on-again, off-again relationship between defensive end Jason Babin and the Jaguars is off again.

The team announced this morning that the veteran pass-rusher had been released.

He voided the final two years of his contract this offseason to become a free agent, tested the market but came back.

He was a solid player last year, with 7.5 sacks for a defense that was good at times.

But with the addition of Chris Clemons and some younger players coming on, the Jaguars probably did him a favor by putting himon the market now instead of after training camp.

Wonder if a team like Dallas will grab him. Seems like he’s got some decent play left in him.

    He’ll find work.
He’s not an all-pro talent but he’s a high-end journeyman with a clearly identifiable skill set.

I guess this means some of the young players are developing the way they want. Good news for fans. Good luck to babin though. He should sign somewhere. He still has some fight left.

In Philly, Chip Kelly would have security confiscate DD or any other fast food bags being brought into the locker room.

anybody playing the wide 9, that’s the only place he fits.

for a team that wants an end who ignores the run to pad his stats, have at it….

and there will be a team that thinks this guy will change his act; but they will be wrong….

He may find he was better off not voiding those years. However, it may be smart if he thought he was going to be cut. I wish him luck but he had some really bad penalties last year which won’t help his resume.

Can’t play run with all or nothing pass rush. Prime move is rush outside and spin underneath to QB. Generally not very disciplined. Takes too many bad penalties. May be useful as 3rd down specialist

Jason will get you the same amount of sacks and personal fouls every season. And fight with teammates on the sidelines. He’s an idiot.
