The on-again, off-again relationship between defensive end Jason Babin and the Jaguars is off again.

The team announced this morning that the veteran pass-rusher had been released.

He voided the final two years of his contract this offseason to become a free agent, tested the market but came back.

He was a solid player last year, with 7.5 sacks for a defense that was good at times.

But with the addition of Chris Clemons and some younger players coming on, the Jaguars probably did him a favor by putting himon the market now instead of after training camp.
