Report: Ravens adding four players, including Aaron Ross

The Ravens are reportedly set to add four defensive players who tried out for them this week.

The club will sign veteran cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Dominique Franks, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported on Thursday. The Ravens will also add rookie linebacker Nick DiMarco and veteran linebacker Austin Spitler, the Sun reported.

The 31-year-old Ross played in four games for the Giants in 2013, defending five passes and grabbing one interception. Ross (6-0, 190) has made 52 career starts since entering the NFL as a first-round selection of New York seven years ago.

A fifth-year pro from Oklahoma, the 6-foot, 197-pound Franks has appeared in 48 games (four starts), all with Atlanta (2010-2013). Franks, 26, was a fifth-round pick of Atlanta in 2010.

The 27-year-old Spitler played in 55 games for Miami in the last four seasons. Spitler (6-2, 250) is an Ohio State product.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound DiMarco played collegiately at William Penn. DiMarco, 22, had tried out for the Jets earlier this spring.

Hope the Ravens enjoy giving Ross another one-year vacation.

Memo to Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome: I know you’ve got a heck of a track record , but do you really want a linebacker who wasn’t even invited to this year’s training camp by the Dolphins , who have one of the weakest LB corps in all of football ? Just askin’.

Post-draft free agent signings are the NFL equivalent of pot luck dinners.

Maybe after a preseason game Oz can get some desperate team to trade a draft choice for his stockpile.

Ross has a chance to stick. The rest are just training camp bodies.

most of not all of these guys are no more than camp bodies and will not make the final cuts

I’ve run out of jokes. That’s how laughable this offseason has been for the ravens.

More garbage for a team that is already overflowing with it.

I hope Aaron Ross sticks, and he works in the slot.

    Sadly for Steelers fans,

    DiMarco and Spitler > Shazier.

It’s gotta be frustrating as a steeler fan to watch Colbert run an ok franchise squarely into the ground.
