Cowboys to add line depth with Uche Nwaneri

The Cowboys have used plenty of premium picks in recent years to bolster their offensive line. That leaves the depth jobs for veterans.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, the Cowboys are going to sign former Jaguars starter Uche Uwaneri.

The Jaguars cut the 30-year-old in March in a cap-saving move. He had started all but five games for them the previous six seasons.

The Titans and Bengals had also showed interest, but he’s from Dallas, and that might have been enough to swing the decision.

    I guess they don’t value Romo’s health.

For all the negative commentator’s getting ready to bash the Cowboys for not addressing the defensive line we already drafted Lawrence… Bishop.. Gardner . Along with signing Melton.. mincey…McClain.. okoye. . With Crawford..spencer..n bass coming off IR.. and selive and hayden having Solid seasons.. so save the for someone else

This will make that defense better.

They’re being smart about this. No big names, just role players who had success somewhere but for cash purposes were cut. Linehan can get something out of him.

Appears to be a pretty decent pick up to me. He has had a relatively healthy career.

The Cowboys first draft pick Zack Martin will start at one guard but the other spot is open for competition. I think they would prefer to keep Bernadeau as a backup at center and guard.

He can now join Mincey and form an “under-performer club”.

Why don’t they try to fix that 32nd ranked defense???….That secondary is historically bad!!!

Great locker room guy. Great with fans. Went on the official team message board to publicly declare the Jags didn’t need Tebow. Best of luck Chukwu!

Another factor in Uche’s decision was that he had already made firm vacation plans for January. It was safe for him to sign with allas and keep those plans.

seems like a good depth pickup to me. Certainly better than the existing depth. Not sure why the haters are going ballistic, but then, that’s what haters do, unreasoned, emtional, knee jerk reactions.

I like it, keeping it young. Hungry young players with something to prove.

gojags, sour grapes. Question: have the jags ever ever ever won anything?

That Offensive line is pretty much the best in the NFL , and its very young. Maybe Romo can play for five more years like he said as long as the o line stays intact. Best offense in the NFC East. Defense is flying under the radar. Watch out for Dallas this season.

88xfactor …a playoff game more recently than the Cowboys?
