Chargers waive CB Brandon Jones

Brandon Jones, Devin Street AP

The Chargers waived cornerback Brandon Jones on Wednesday, the club said on Twitter.

The move comes one day after San Diego reached a deal with ex-Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers. According to the club’s transactions, the signing of Flowers became official today, necessitating a roster spot.

A Rutgers product, the 24-year-old Jones joined the Chargers’ practice squad in December 2013. The club signed him to a reserve/future deal in January.

Jones (6-1, 187) originally signed with New England as an undrafted free agent in 2013.

The Chargers have all 90 roster spots filled.

I realize Flower is no longer the great CB he once was, but the Chargers did get a little better defensively with him. Can I get one sane Chiefs fan to agree with me?
