The Chargers waived cornerback Brandon Jones on Wednesday, the club said on Twitter.
The move comes one day after San Diego reached a deal with ex-Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers. According to the club’s transactions, the signing of Flowers became official today, necessitating a roster spot.
A Rutgers product, the 24-year-old Jones joined the Chargers’ practice squad in December 2013. The club signed him to a reserve/future deal in January.
Jones (6-1, 187) originally signed with New England as an undrafted free agent in 2013.
The Chargers have all 90 roster spots filled.
