Packers have high hopes for Randall Cobb

Packers receiver Randall Cobb missed 10 games with a broken leg, but a healthy Cobb could be in for a very big year in 2014.

In fact, Vic Ketchman of Packers.com writes that the expectations are so high that Cobb could lead the league in receptions this season.

That seems like an awfully optimistic expectation, although Cobb had 25 catches through four games, putting him on pace for 100 catches for the season, when he got hurt in the Packers’ fifth game last year. Still, Cobb would likely have to catch even more than 100 passes to lead the league; the league leader has had more than 100 catches in every season this century.

Aaron Rodgers said before last season that Cobb was a 100-catch guy. Cobb certainly has the talent, and the Packers’ offense will get him the ball a lot. Just as long as he stays healthy.
