Wide receiver Kevin Smith played his college football at the University of Washington and now he’ll be trying to start his professional career in Seattle as well.

Smith signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday, filling the roster spot that the team opened on Tuesday when they parted ways with defensive tackle Andru Pulu. Smith led the Huskies in receiving yards last season and also saw time as a kick and punt returner.

The Seahawks have found room for undrafted wideouts like Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse in the past, but Smith’s best chance of sticking will likely come if he makes a mark on special teams as he is now one of 13 receivers vying for spots.

It’s not the first spot he’s tried to make his mark since going undrafted. Smith originally signed with the Cardinals in May and spent two weeks with the Jaguars after the Cardinals waived him in June.
