At a time when good running backs with long resumes in college are having trouble getting drafted, it figures to be harder still for one to follow the path of the Supplemental Draft.
According to Dane Brugler of CBS Sports, it appears SMU running back Traylon Shead will enter the process for players who weren’t eligible for the spring version.
The former Texas recruit had 51 carries for 197 yards and three touchdowns for SMU last year. He’s already hired an agent, per the Dallas Morning News, and he hasn’t been participating in spring workouts.
That’s not a good sign for someone burning a future draft pick on him, though he could end up in a training camp.
