Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and his wife Kim recently released a statement saying that they are following the developments of efforts to sell the Bills and they reportedly have some help keeping tabs on the situation.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that the Pegulas have hired Steve Greenberg to oversee any potential bid. Greenberg, a managing director at the investment bank Allen & Co. and the son of baseball Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg, has helped broker the sale of numerous franchises in the United States, including the recent sale of the Milwaukee Bucks and deals involving several Major League Baseball teams.

The Pegulas have not said whether or not they plan on making a bid, saying only that they support efforts to keep the team in Western New York. Per Graham, Morgan Stanley has yet to provide prospective bidders with sales books that would give them a detailed read of the team’s financial situation. The NFL has reportedly seen the sales book and potenital bidders are expected to have them before the July 4 weekend.

Donald Trump, Tom Golisano and a group including rock star Jon Bon Jovi have been mentioned as others with possible interest in buying the team from the family of Bills founder Ralph Wilson.
