Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh can get after the quarterback like few interior linemen.

However, he’s never sacked future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.

Suh would like to change that, he told the Oregonian‘s John Canzano in a feature published Friday.

“Peyton’s going to go down in the Hall of Fame as one of the best who ever played. I want to take him down,” Suh said when asked which quarterback he most wanted to sack, according to the Oregonian. “Plus, one of my best friends met Peyton at the Pro Bowl two years ago, shook his hand and wouldn’t wash his hand for two days. I want to take his hero down.”

Suh and Manning have twice been named to the Pro Bowl in the same season, but Suh sat out the game in 2010, and Manning didn’t play in 2013 on account of Denver making the Super Bowl. They have never met in the regular season.

The Lions and Broncos aren’t slated to meet in the preseason or regular season in 2014, which means the only way Manning and Suh could face off would be in Super Bowl 49 or if they were on opposite Pro Bowl squads. And of course, one matchup would be more compelling than the other.

It’s the one that doesn’t include the Pro Bowl draft.
