Green Bay is one of numerous cities reportedly interested in eventually playing host to the NFL Draft.
Count the Packers as supportive of the idea, too.
In a Q&A with fans on the club’s website, team president and CEO Mark Murphy said the team has reached out to the NFL “regarding the specifications” of putting on the draft in Green Bay. He noted that hosting the draft “would be great for the local community.”
If the NFL indeed begins to stage the draft in various league cities, Green Bay would be an intriguing site, given the Packers’ history and the city’s support of pro football.
Chicago, Los Angeles and New York are among the cities being considered to host the 2015 draft, which is moving from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for at least the coming year.
