Aqib Talib holds no grudges toward Dallas cops

If Aqib Talib was once considering action against the Dallas Police Department for falsely identifying him in an arrest, he seems to have gotten over it.

The Broncos cornerback told Adam Kurkjian of the Boston Herald that he held no ill will against them for smearing his name all over the internet when they had actually arrested his brother Yaqub recently.

“No, definitely not,” Talib said when asked if he is mistaken for his brother. “That doesn’t happen too much. But that’s some hard-working guys in Dallas. They were just doing their job and they made a mistake, an honest mistake, man. It happens sometimes, man.”

Considering the legal hurdles he’d have to clear to prove damages, Talib is probably best off taking the high road on this one, and enjoying his freedom in Denver.

They should give him a “get out of jail free” card. Maybe $200 too.

I called this the very first time it was reported. Way to go, Aqib. As I said before, you would look like a much bigger man, and you do. And bigger than the DPD. In this litigious society we live in, I think you handled this with complete and total class. Here’s a pat on the back form an ordinary fan. Heck, I just gave myself one, too!

And then, Aqib put down the ransom note Dallas police prepared for him to read for the interview, and took comfort in knowing the Dallas authorities would be more lenient on his brother.

Can we please pass an Egregiously Bad Grammar law…and charge him with that?

Translation: The Donkeys PR staff told him to hush up and it will go away.

Aqib Talib is the most overrated corner in the game. The donkeys will soon learn that the hard way as flacco will shread him to pieces in the divisional round in what will be another one and done season for the broncos.

Too bad. I was hoping he’d sue them and put a national spotlight on how PDs are power-and-publicity hungry organizations not working in the public interest.

The officers responsible for putting his name up on the internet should still be fired. Cops have no business posting about arrests on twitter.

    Miiigty BIG of ya, Talib.

    Sounds like maturity has occurred.

Glad to see we don’t ALWAYS have to assign blame and/or punishment.
