Vikings defensive end Spencer Nealy will serve a four-game suspension to begin the 2014 regular season after violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, the league said Friday.

Nealy, 24, spent part of the 2013 season on the Vikings’ practice squad. The club signed him to a reserve/future deal in December.

Nealy can take part in the Vikings’ training camp and preseason activities before serving his suspension. He can first return to an NFL roster on Monday, September 29.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Nealy played collegiately at Texas A&M. He had a stint with Detroit last year before joining Minnesota in August.

  1. This is a practice squad player who will soon get cut.

This does not affiliate with the clean, historic Minnesota Vikings we all know.

Class is our premium, and that’s all we have.

We aren’t like the Seahawks, where their actual franchise players take them.

So whoever turns this into a negative thing about the Minnesota Vikings, is completely wrong.

And is just jealous they aren’t a Vikings fan.

    Skol.

  2. He was a beast for A&M in 2012 and was a big part of A&M’s success that year.

I’m glad to see he is taking the high road and just coming out and admitting what he took and not pointing any fingers.

  3. Can you blame the guy? He looked around the locker room and asked himself, “What do you have to do to be a success around here?”

He figured it out, leave the Vikings and join the Seahawks so he just started the PED regiment early to impress his prospective new employer.

  4. A sex party occurred on Lake Minnetonta with seventeen key members of the Minnesota Vikings football team; including quarterback Daunte Culpepper, Fred Smoot, Mewelde Moore, Pat Williams, Bryant McKinnie, Nate Burleson, Ralph Brown, Troy Williamson (who was then beginning his rookie season), Travis Taylor, Kevin Williams, Lance Johnstone, Moe Williams, and Willie Offord. Two houseboats were rented and some, but not all of the players performed sexual acts in front of crew members. Prostitutes from Atlanta and Florida were flown in for the party, in order to perform the sex acts. There were apparently ninety people on the two boats. An anonymous former player of the Minnesota Vikings claimed that this is not the first time that such an incident had happened.

  5. anyone else read this as “Spencer Nearly Suspended Four Games for Violating PED Policy” and thinking “Spencer who, and how did he dodge that bullet?”

  6. Bahaha….nothing better than knowing pftpoet is having to eat crow. Karma is a killer buddy, you should have known better to not throw rocks in a glass house.

    PEDSKOL

  7. Spencer, come to Green Bay! you would be a huge upgrade on the worst defense in the history of man kind!!! IF clown music is your theme, Green Bay is your team!!!

  8. This is the only recognizable name on that no-name Viking defense and now this happens? No wonder this team is destined to finish last in the NFC if not the entire league for the foreseeable future.

  9. Worst defense in the history of all man kind? Not just the NFL but all man kind? Holy cow that’s bad! And to think the MN Vikings were STILL ranked worse!? Maybe they’re the worst in the history of the universe? I don’t know really, I’m not 14….but I bet you are.

  10. Awful lot of PED suspensions last two years and NOT ONE from the Seahawks…kind of blows up the silly narrative others try to keep alive.

  11. “ariani1985 says: Jul 11, 2014 5:12 PM – Spencer, come to Green Bay! you would be a huge upgrade on the worst defense in the history of man kind!!!”

By worst defense in the history of mankind, you must mean the 2013 Viking defense that allowed the most points in the league and the 2nd most yards behind only Dallas. Since you troll almost as much as the pftpoet clown does, try to get your facts right at least once in a while.

You are right about one thing – everyone on PFT hears clown music when we read you, pftpoet, or any of the other Viking fan trolls’ posts.

  12. Last year they had the most arrested team and now their defense is so desperate to not finish last again they take up Peterson pushing the PED’s. The team is the gift that keeps on giving.

  13. This guy is my kind of viking player.

He upholds the traditions of the vikings and shows you what kind of moral fiber of which vikings are made.

I’ve been told by some here that the first four games really do not matter as he will still likely get 20 INT’s and 20 sacks while leading the vikings into their “dynastic era.”

Talk about a fantasy … player!!

Woo hoo!! .350 here they come!!

He’ll have the viking followers eating ice cream with their ATM cards.

  14. As a Viking 4life since 1968-We the Viking fandom do not, have never and never will recognize the embarrassment that is “thepftpoet”!

  15. Why is it everything with pftpoet/vikings is this great historic franchise with a rich history and hall of famers around every corner and the best ownership and yada yada, yet they have never won a super bowl and their last nfc championship was in the 70’s and last time I checked they were rebuilding…….AGAIN!!! Lol SoKeepOnLosing!!! Take care now, bye bye then 🙂

  16. I like PFTpoet’s posts. Keep ’em coming buddy.
While they talk about how great they were, we will talk about how great we are!

    Skol Vkings!

  17. I never heard of Nealy. He probably wasn’t going to make the team anyway. No loss, but he would no doubt improve the green and yellow. Sorry cheesers, it is not gold. If you want to see actual gold color in uniforms, I refer you to the Niners, Rams and Vikings.

  18. Class is our premium?
See love boat. Look into Vikings DUI s.
skolol. You only get lower case letters from me

    -ouch. That one hurt

  20. A classic example of bandwagon fans and just trolls to the site are a majority of the purple posters saying they do not know who this guy is after he had been on the team all year. I don’t know about you but here in Green Bay and all NFL franchises true fan knows who is on the roster.
