We hinted a bit earlier via Twitter that it could be a good time for another NFL bad news dump for a reason. We’d heard that something may be happening today in connection with the Vikings’ investigation of former punter Chris Kluwe’s claim of homophobic comments and retaliatory discharge.

It didn’t happen. Or, perhaps more accurately, it hasn’t happened yet.

Or maybe it’s still happening, and Kluwe doesn’t like whatever it will be.

Never let it be said that I didn’t try,” Kluwe said at roughly 5:00 p.m. ET. “Apparently the Vikings want to do this the hard way.”

Kluwe then suggests that more will come out next week, primarily because he’s currently at something called Quakecon.

“And yes, shit is about to get real,” Kluwe adds. “Unfortunate that it has to come to this.”

“This” apparently will be the lawsuit that Kluwe’s lawyer recently said was coming if the Vikings don’t disclose the report of the investigation. The two sides were due to meet Thursday, presumably in a last-ditch effort to resolve the situation amicably.
