The Bills opened camp today by putting players through a conditioning camp, and receiver Mike Williams says he killed it.

“At the start of camp, just did the conditioning test and I feel real good,” Williams told the Buffalo News. “I feel great. I feel I got an A-plus, if there was a grade for it. I feel I’m ready to go.”

That’s good news because Williams sat out much of the offseason to rest a hamstring that has given him trouble and cut short his 2013 season. Williams says his hamstring issues are behind him.

“I’m fully ready to go,” Williams said. “I trained this whole offseason. There was really no offseason for me. I kinda had to get my leg better. I had to get back to feeling like Mike again, like my mom always tells me. Today running that conditioning test made me feel like I was Mike again.”

Williams was acquired in a trade with the Bucs this offseason, and he has to prove himself just to make the roster in Buffalo. With four talented young receivers in Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin and Marcus Easley, the Bills likely only have one roster spot remaining for Williams and all the other receivers to compete for. Starting camp in good shape and 100 percent healthy will go a long way
toward getting that final roster spot.
