Jason Babin visited the Jets this week

The Jets continue to look for ways to make a good defense better.

According to Kimberly Jones of the NFL Network, veteran defensive end Jason Babin visited the Jets this week.

Babin had an on-again/off-again offseason with the Jaguars, eventually being cut in June. But he was productive for them last year, leading the team with 7.5 sacks.

He’s 34 years old, and perhaps no more than a situational player at this point, but he’d lend depth to their pass-rush.

    This dude has played for;
    Houston, Seattle, KC, Philly, Tennessee, Philly, Jacksonville, and now possibly NY.

    He is the new J.T. O’Sullivan.

    Perennial underachiever with a poor attitude. Rex will want him.

    he would be an outstanding situational pass rusher for the jets

    He could be effective with Wilkerson and Richardson drawing most of the attention of the opposing o-line on passing downs. Babin and Barnes could be a nice combo coming off the edges.

    This is where keeping yourself so far under the cap has some advantages.

    Make him a depth signing for a million or 2…One year deal…Rotate him in with the SOA line and the pass rush gets even better if that’s possible…

    He flames out…oh well…you still have tons of cap space…

    Why not?

    Nice pick up. He’d be perfect as a DPR on that Jets D-line. I was hoping Barnes would be healthy enough for the start of camp but it isn’t looking that way. Babin is a great fall back option though.
