Mike Wallace out for second straight day with a sore hamstring

The Dolphins hope to get more out of wide receiver Mike Wallace in Wallace’s second season in Miami, but things haven’t gotten off to the best of starts.

Wallace is out of practice on Thursday because of a sore hamstring, which also kept him out of practice on Wednesday. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the injury is expected to keep Wallace off the field through the weekend.

That means Wallace will miss a scrimmage at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday and Salguero reports he’ll be evaluated again at the start of next week. If Wallace’s absence extends deeper into the week, he’ll be at risk of missing the team’s first preseason game on August 8 against the Falcons.

It doesn’t sound like it is a major injury, although anything that keeps Wallace from working with quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the team’s new offense is less than ideal for the chances of getting that improved second season from the centerpiece of their 2013 offseason moves.

Ireland signing, so I’m not sure who you’re referring that question to..?

Barring some major injury, I think Wallace has a good year if the O-Line holds together.

    Fins up!

Too bad. With their O-line woes + Wallace’s sore vagina, err hamstring, the Patriots can now commence their annual romp through the AFC Least (before losing to a real team in the playoffs).

It’s strange that nearly all ex-Steelers never perform to the same level once they switch unis.

Do the Fins ever get a positive article on this site? Maybe one about how Tannehill is looking vastly improved or how Dion Jordan is beasting it up? Even yesterdays about the Dolphins dropping balls and having a sloppy practice (even though it was a down pour) how about writing up something on the good days?

He regrets opting for Miami instead of Minnesota.

Must have pulled it wind surfing along the beach in Miami. I’m sure its not an old pittsburg injury from shoveling snow. He’ll be fine after some rest by the pool.

How did he pull a hammy when he said he never goes full speed at practice? Either his mindset has changed or he is not as in shape as he should be. Maybe he read that T-shirt and changed his practice habits. Let’s hope

Wallace may not be back for the first preseason game!? Ahhhhh!!! I was so excited to see him play….in 1 to 2 drives.

Yeah… I get it. He has a minor injury in Camp and once again he is overpaid, lazy, one-trick pony, the Dolphins stink, etc. etc. the good news is we are ranked 31st and when we beat your favorite team you will pipe down with your nonsense comments.

It’s a sore hamstring. Not a tear. In the first week of training camp. He’s not on the PUP list. One third of the league has the same problem during training camp, especially WR and RB. Some of these people make it out to be like he’s on IR. Far better to rest him than risk further injury.
