Brady Quinn hasn’t closed the book on his playing career just yet

While Brady Quinn has been hired by Fox Sports as a college football and NFL analyst, his playing career may not be over.

Appearing on The Dan Patrick Show Friday, Quinn said he had a workout with an unnamed club on Monday.

“It went well,” Quinn said. “In this particular situation, though, they need something to happen in order for me to possibly be there.”

Quinn said Fox would be “flexible” in allowing him to continue to stay ready for another opportunity to play while also working for the network.

The 29-year-old Quinn had stints with the Seahawks, Jets and Rams in 2013.

UPDATE 11:52 a.m. ET: According to The Dan Patrick Show’s Andrew Perloff, Brady worked out for the Patriots this week.

  12. fordmandalay says: Aug 1, 2014 12:07 PM

There’s still got to be at least 4 teams in the NFL he hasn’t olayed for yet! Gotta catch ’em all.

  13. kd75 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:10 PM

Quinn and Tebow should move in together and film a reality show.

  14. 49erfan44 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:10 PM

    He should.

  15. warhammer420 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:13 PM

Well, he has some nice guns. That just never translated into him actually being able to throw the ball well.

  16. joetoronto says: Aug 1, 2014 12:13 PM

Just one more pay day and his career is complete.

  18. harrisonhits2 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:15 PM

Hey if he can get a job holding a clipboard for a couple mil a year why not.

That any NFL team would give him that opportunity at this point is doubtful. Have to be a lot of QB injuries for that to happen.

You know it’s bad when Tebow beats you out of a spot. Just sayin”

  24. jimbo75025 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:37 PM

Quinn destroyed himself with that holdout or whatever it was right after he fell in the draft. That combined with the weird situation in Cleveland of Derek Anderson coming off a career year in the year before Quinn was drafted pretty much sealed his fate.

  25. dmoney666 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:49 PM

Just another over-rated Notre Dame QB. Nothing to see here, folks.

  26. cpitch12 says: Aug 1, 2014 12:50 PM

When Mallett goes to Texans with pick for Andre Johnson…..Quinn will be there with Tom and Jimmy G……….u heard it hear first

  27. thelastwordyaheard says: Aug 1, 2014 12:54 PM

pretty sure the Pats already have some dude named Brady who’s decent..

  28. doctorrustbelt says: Aug 1, 2014 1:12 PM

I think this proves that I was right about Brady Quinn’s statistical inflation due to Notre Dame’s weak schedule/weak opponents.

    15% of career tds (15 td = 15.79%) against Army/Air Force/Navy

8% of career tds (8 td = 8.42%) against TERRIBLE Stanford teams (4-win/4-win/5-win/1 win)

    18% of career tds (18 tds = 18.95%) against BYU/Purdue/North Carolina

43.16% of CAREER TOUCHDOWNS came against service academies, TERRIBLE Stanford teams, and bad to barely mediocre BYU/Purdue/UNC teams.

  29. revren10 says: Aug 1, 2014 1:15 PM

He would be immediate starter on the Vikings

    Quinn desreves one more shot

  31. afcdomination says: Aug 1, 2014 1:27 PM

quinn has received plenty of chances. KC left him in most of the season winning 2 games. he was a big part of that. cassel would have won more than 2. Quinn gave game after game away

of course, its the chiefs so instead of Luck or Clowney that just meant Eric Fisher

  32. cowpiesnotcowboys says: Aug 1, 2014 1:32 PM

So according to Andrew Perloff, a guy named Brady worked out for the Patriots this week? I’m pretty sure they will end up with a Brady at QB.

  33. jrs45 says: Aug 1, 2014 5:00 PM

We could only wish that you were done.

  34. margegundersonbrainerd says: Aug 1, 2014 6:51 PM

Six different NFL teams, and wound up third string on each one, frequently beat out by guys who are long out of the league themselves.

He reached his career peak when draft officials took pity on him sitting there looking butt-hurt as one team after another wisely passed on him, and hustled him backstage to be humiliated in private.

Even then he was oblivious, holding out on signing a contract because for some bizarre reason, he felt he should be paid at the level he expected to be taken, instead of facing reality.

It’s pretty hard to catch up after a holdout when you’re actually talented. This twatpickle never had a chance.

  35. excessivedrinking says: Aug 1, 2014 7:47 PM

    Brady Manziel

  36. Ferdinand says: Aug 1, 2014 10:03 PM

Brady Quinn can’t retire yet! There are still a couple of teams his name has never been attached to in any way!

The NFL pays alittle bit more than A FOX analyst so why not try to cash in one more time? It’s just to bad he can’t play, keep that chair warm in that studio gotta feeling he will be sitting in it soon.
