Dolphins add Samson Satele to center scrum

Satele

With Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey out for at least half the season due to a hip injury and the Dolphins concerned about the position without him, “next man up” has yielded to “next man in.”

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have signed veteran center Samson Satele.

Satele started 32 games over two seasons with Miami to begin his career. He has since played for the Raiders for three season (from 2009 to 2011) and the Colts (2012 to 2013).

While Satele has been the starter on every team for which he has played, he’ll have to learn the new Miami offense quickly. Even if he doesn’t, he may be the best option they have until Pouncey returns.
