Seahawks waive/injured Michael Bowie

The Seahawks have waived/injured an offensive lineman who started eight games for them a season ago.

The club announced Saturday it was placing second-year tackle Michael Bowie on waivers with the “injured” designation.

According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, coach Pete Carroll indicated Bowie had a substantial shoulder injury.

If Bowie clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve.

A seventh-round pick of Seattle in 2013, Bowie started seven games at right tackle and one at right guard in the 2013 regular season.

The Seahawks bolstered their options at right tackle earlier this week with the signing of Eric Winston, an experienced starter at the position. Breno Giacomini, who made the bulk of the starts at right tackle for Seattle a season ago, signed with the Jets in free agency.

It’s 100 percent sickening that Eric Winston might get a chance to start because of Bowie’s injury. There’s a rumor Winston was cheering from the sidelines.

Bowie on IR. We’ll have to make some ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

Very unexpected, he started as an undrafted rookie free agent RT and held up basically as good as Breno but looked solid at RG when Sweezy went down.

I hear praise of Justin Britt at times and other times he’s undersized getting manhandled by Cliff Avril. Lets hope Bowie clears waivers and get another shot with the Hawks.

Houston could use him when he’s healthy. Wouldn’t be surprised if they claimed him.

    C’mon Pats, grab this guy!

Everybody gets manhandled by Cliff Avril.

Bowie hadn’t been practicing so this is not really a surprise. Seahawks were also unhappy with his conditioning. Okung, Carpenter, Unger, Sweezy and Wnston, L to R. Don’t think Bowie was gonna crack that group anyway.

Always hate to hear when a Hawk gets injured. Having said that it’s reassuring to hear that Schneider has the confidence in the new guys that he feels comfortable releasing an O lineman that started that many games for us last season.

I still want to see Britt win this job. Not some guy off the NFL scrap heap. Definitely Seattle’s weakest position.

I guess Pete wasn’t joking after the SB when answering how he was going to deal with complacent players that if they came back “fat and sassy” they would be replaced.

Cheat Carroll can feed him some PEDs and he will be back in no time.

Wonder of Hawks O line will be better.

Goodell hired a replacement doctor to look into this, He ruled that not only is Bowie healthy, but he just scored a touchdown. 7-0 Hawks.

Sad. Came in out of shape and bye. He’ll have next year to compete in Seattle if not claimed off of waivers. Good luck in the recovery.

Seahawks have strengthened every position on the team except the ones on the OL.

The o-line has been our weakness every year that Cable has been the oline coach.

Either get a new oline coach or start taking the oline seriously Pete and John

Bowie is now a Cleveland Brown.
