Wide receiver Anquan Boldin isn’t the only member of the 49ers whose exuberance has been a bit too much for coach Jim Harbaugh to bear in practice.

Boldin was asked to leave Friday’s practice after a scuffle with cornerback Darryl Morris and Sunday saw cornerback Chris Culliver get the same treatment. Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports that Culliver rocked wide receiver David Reed with a shot near the sideline after a short completion.

Harbaugh then sent Culliver to the sideline and reminded the rest of the team to keep their teammates from hitting the ground as a result of a hit in practice. Culliver took a different path than Boldin, who walked off the field after being removed from practice, and stuck around to talk to the coach at the end of the session.

Maiocco reports that Harbaugh also warned the team to avoid cheap shots, which can hurt their teammates during practice and hurt the team during a game if they draw penalty flags. It can be a fine line between going full speed and making sure that you don’t cross a line in both cases, but Harbaugh seems committed to making sure that the 49ers fall on the right side of that line this summer.
